  1. How to Feel Good about Yourself?

Imagine this – you wake up in a very positive mood, however as the day goes by, everything starts going wrong. You stop and wonder, “How to feel better about yourself”, especially when everything you planned is not going as you wish.

When everything around us seems to fall apart, all we want to do is hide somewhere. We all wish we could press a button and make it go away. When we see our life derailing, we can do small things to get it back on track.

Even though we cannot restart the day, we can make a few changes and focus on what we can control. There are some simple ways how to feel good about yourself.

Chapter 1:
How to Feel Good about Yourself?

When you have a bad day, you will mostly focus on the wrong. Moreover, you may only look at things that are not in your control. Therefore, the first thing we need to do to feel better is to pay attention to things in our control. We will provide you with a comprehensive list of turning your bad day into a good one.
Step Outside
Sometimes just going out for a walk can greatly change how you feel. If you have a busy workday, even a 15-minute stroll in your area would be beneficial. If not, you can go out for a drive or a cycle/ bike ride.
Keep Moving Forward
One way by which you will feel better about yourself is by not letting small things bring you down. What we mean by this is, don’t let a bad day define you. Look at it as a part of your life and not your whole life.
Trust Yourself
No matter what goes wrong around you, learn to trust yourself. If we let every small situation affect us, we will constantly be pushed around. All of us, including you, have the ability to deal with all situations. All it takes is trusting yourself.
Speak to Family or Friends
When you find it hard to trust yourself, call a close friend or family member. Sharing and venting out what you are feeling will lighten the burden. Additionally, you can find a solution to the problem. They will help you feel good and more in control. You will also feel confident to handle the situation.
Go Watch a Movie
Instead of sitting at home and watching TV series or movies online, go to a movie theatre. If possible, watch it alone. This will help you disconnect from your bad day. This will also help you feel better about yourself.
Meditate to Improve How You Feel about Yourself
When you meditate, your mind will feel calmer. A calm mind is able to disconnect from the world. As a result of this, you won’t let outside situations affect how good you feel about yourself.
Pamper Yourself to Feel Better
To quickly turn a bad day into a good one, you need to relax. And what good way to relax than pampering yourself? So, plan a spa day, go shopping and relish a meal that you enjoy.
How to Feel Better about Yourself by Writing
A good way to feel better about yourself is to write down what you are thankful for. Create a list of all the things which are going right in your life. The reason for this exercise is to remind yourself how beautiful your life really is.
Love Yourself
As much as you try to plan your life, things may not work out the way you want. This does not mean you question yourself. How you feel should not be based on the success of your plans. Self-love is very important in order to feel good about yourself. Therefore, instead of trying to focus on the plan, focus on yourself so that you can achieve your plans. If plan “A” doesn’t work, focus on making plan “B”. Remember, there are 26 letters in the alphabet, one plan will surely work.
Ignore Negative Comments
If you are questioning how you feel about yourself based on what others say, you will always feel low. If you truly want to know how to feel good about yourself, ignore people’s comments. Comments are people’s opinions about you, which may not always be true. Everyone is different and hence what people think of you may not apply to you. It is important to accept that not everyone will like you, so worrying about others won’t make you feel good about yourself.
Write Your Strengths
Another good way to feel good about yourself is to write down your strengths. Make a list of all your skills and write them on separate pieces of paper. Stick these papers on your mirror or on a wall. Place them in such a way that you can read it every day. In this way, you will read the list every morning that will help you feel better about yourself.
Expect bad days
Remember, every day cannot be a good day. In life, there will be some good days and some bad days. It is important to expect bad days. Generally, people believe that in order to feel good about themselves, they should have a perfect day. Well, this isn’t true. Your day should not define how you feel about yourself.
Develop a Positive Outlook
When we have a positive way of looking at life, small setbacks won’t matter. In fact, even if everything goes wrong, you will still feel better about yourself. This is because you won’t consider everything that is going wrong personally. A good way to achieve this is by practice writing positive statements about yourself every day.
Be Aware of Your Thoughts
It is important to be aware of what you think. When you are aware of how you think, you will also be able to control unwanted thoughts. This means that you won’t let all your thought decide how good or bad you feel about yourself. Also, you will feel better even if the day is not going well.
