Chapter 1:

What Is Body Positivity Movement?

So, it all began with making a space for bodies that look different. The bodies that do not necessarily seem to fit into the ” perfect” category. In a way, the body positivity movement gave empowerment to the different bodies. This movement has helped a lot of people to accept and love their bodies. However, there is a negative effect of this movement. People who are overweight or obese feel that their bodies are healthy. That is not true. When one is overweight/obese, there are higher chances that their bodies are unhealthy and prone to many other health conditions. Thus, it is important that the motto of this movement is to have healthy bodies. The manner in which one can achieve this is with wholesome foods and physical activity. The goal is to have a healthy body and not a perfect body, meeting the body standards.

Chapter 2:

Why Is My Body Image Fluctuating?

This has become very common these days. We can become insecure when we compare not our bodies to others online. In fact, it is just bodies, we go on to compare our lives to others. One can easily get triggered to judge our own personality, who we look and even our skills. Sometimes, you can find yourself comparing to complete strangers. Isn’t that ridiculous? You are going through a stranger’s profile- you soon go on to compare various aspects of your life to them. Maybe, that person has a toned body or the perfect job that you dream of. It could be anything, that can make you compare and feel insecure about it.

If you think about it, it’s so illogical. To compare yourself to someone who may not even know. Their life circumstances are different and everyone has their own struggles with life. We do not everything about people’s life. Especially, people who are strangers to us. Regardless, of how insensible these comparisons are, our emotional response can be so strong that, logic seems to not exist.

Chapter 3:

The Harsh Reality of Social Media

The first thing that you need to hear loud and clear is ” What people show on social media are the best moments of one’s life” The events and pictures that we see are only one part of their lives. In fact, these are reel lives and not exactly real lives. Especially, it isn’t all real when there is an only emphasis on the ups of life and not on the downs of life. Isn’t life a combination of ups and downs? The reality of our lives is that there are times when things get hard and ugly. But, unfortunately, most people do not show this side of their lives. This makes people believe that their lives are more terrible than others. In fact, this is how people get sadder when they on to their social media apps.

Hence, the reality of social media is very different from the real lives of people. it is important for us to remember that nobody has a perfect life. Even though it may seem like that to us.

Chapter 4:

Does Empowering Quotes About Body Image Really Help?

Well, it really can help you. It gives you a chance to recognise and accept reality. Sometimes, because of one’s personal beliefs and judgements, we cannot see reality. We all have a natural tendency to compare to others. This is normal and it is okay. But, the moment it starts to affect how you feel and see your body. This is definitely a sign that you should watch out for. We learn to compare. It is not something that people are born with. The social world has taught us how to compare. This act of comparing is not always bad for you, it can also be good for you. This gives space for you to learn and grow. Therefore, quotes are a very useful way to empower one’s body image.

Chapter 5:

Empowering Quotes About Body Image

Here are Some Empowering Body Image Quotes:
“Feeling beautiful has nothing to do with what you look like” – Emma Watson

Don’t you think this is true? Feeling beautiful should come from within and not from who you look. If you feel beautiful, because you are physically attractive, then you have not understood what true beauty is.

” And I said to my body, softly, ” I want to be your friend”. It took a long breath and replied ” I’ve been waiting my whole life for this.”- Nayyirah Waheed

Our bodies are really trying their best to keep us alive. Have you ever thought about the amount of hate that you are putting on your own body? It is very sad the amount of pressure that one tends to put on their body. Do you want to be friends with your body?

” I want to enjoy life, and I can’t if I’m not eating and miserable.” -Kate Upton

You cannot possibly enjoy life always watching out for calories. It gets all too exhausting and tiring. The best way is to have a healthy diet accompanied by exercise. It is okay to be sneaky and have your favourite unhealthy dish once in a while. You should be able to enjoy life and cherish it.

I don’t look in the mirror and go, ‘Oh, I look fantastic!’ Of course, I don’t. Nobody is perfect. I just don’t believe in perfection. But I do believe in saying, ‘This is who I am and look at me not being perfect!’ I’m proud of that.” – Kate Winslet

This is such a good quote. Kate Winslet is really being honest here. It is true that it is hard to go on to say that ” I am fantastic”. In fact, nobody is really that perfect. But, it is important to accept the way you are, which means you need to accept the ugly, beautiful sides of being you.
