Feeling Weird Is a Common Anxiety Symptom
You may be going through a dissociative anxiety symptom called detachment if you have ever had the unsettling impression that you are floating above yourself or that you are not quite connected to the world around you.
So, anxiety can make you feel weird. Your body and mind are fully used as it sets off your fight-or-flight reaction. It has both mental and physical symptoms.
Chapter 2:
How Anxiety Makes You Feel Weird Mentally?
Anxiety affects the way that your brain produces certain chemicals, which impact why you feel weird mentally and physically. These chemicals transfer information from one part of the body to another. The production of chemicals in the brain depends on anxiety levels. For instance, when you feel scared, the brain releases a chemical to prepare the body for a fight or flight response and shifts the chemicals from other parts to where it is most needed. Such as it may gather in the prefrontal cortex which can make you feel the urge to urinate, as reported by many people.
The majority of people report that they feel weird when they discuss how worry frequently results in extreme stress, which has an impact on all of their thinking. So worrying causes you to overthink and you might feel like your brain is in fog. You may not be able to focus on anything which makes you feel overwhelmed.
Your feeling may be strange to you that you might not explain. Such as people who have social anxiety, get signals from their bodies warning them that they are being evaluated. As a result, they feel alert and weird. People might have general anxiety just by living in the unknown and constantly replaying “what if” situations in their minds.
Chapter 3:
How Anxiety Makes You Feel Weird Physically?
- Increased heart rate.
- Increased breathing.
- Excessive sweating.
- Lightheadedness or dizziness.
- A tingling sensation on the skin.
- Trembling.
- Weak legs.
- Body pains.
- Lump in throat.
- Depersonalization.
If left unattended, these signs can lead to a severe anxiety attack since they seem to influence every area of your body. These signs are caused by an adrenalin rush in the blood. So if you are constantly having stress, it may be physically unpleasant to you.

Identify Your Feelings
- What words can You use to express my feelings the best?
- I am experiencing a variety of emotions. is this making me feel weird?
- Has something lately occurred that might be related to these feelings?
Chapter 5:
Identify Your Needs
- Have you eaten food or drink enough water? 1
- Have you moved your body? 2
- Have you had enough sleep? 3
- Do you need to talk to someone? 4
- Do you need some alone time to think and connect? 5
- Do I have enough free time to engage in interests outside of my job and school?
If you see that a need is not being addressed for a long length of time. Reconsidering your present habits might help you better meet your basic needs. You may focus on a specific sensation to help you feel better when you are aware of what you are experiencing and why.
