1. Set Daily Routines

Managing your time effectively is needed. Also, we might notice that we feel lonely either in the morning or at night when we are not too busy. Hence, establishing routines for both periods is helpful. It can keep you busy with healthy activities.

You can start your day with something other than checking your phone. For example, meditation, prayer or even yoga can be helpful. Getting ready the first thing in the morning can boost your mood. For your nighttime ritual, you can listen to soothing music or even have a hot shower. Practising a night care skin routine can also make you feel good.

Some helpful tips to set your routine if you are living alone for the first time-

  • Schedule time for housecleaning, errands, and other chores.
  • Try to go to bed and wake up around the same time everyday.
  • Keep time for relaxation and hobbies.

2. Limit Your Time on Social Media

It is easy to lose track of time when you are on social media. Also, this can be tiring. Also, we tend to compare our life with others. This will make you feel more lonely if you find everyone except you is in love or partying. Replace your time on social media with other activities such as reading or listening to music.

3. Stay Connected With Loved Ones

As soon as you feel lonely, you should try to connect quickly with people. You can call your friend or even video call a family member. Don’t allow the feeling to grow. Living alone does not mean you should detach from people. It is healthy to connect with our support system.

6. Get Back to Nature

Spending time outside keeps you active. It can also help you feel more connected. And is a great stress buster. Spend some time outside with nature such as a garden or a trek. This can make you feel more compassionate and less lonely.

8. Reach Out for Support

Living alone for the first time isn’t for everyone. You may not enjoy it and that’s perfectly okay.
